Fangirl Friday #13…Books that I’m Waiting (Impatiently) For

Okay, so this week’s Fangirl Friday has a few of the books that I am really forward to in 2015 and 2016. Here’s my top five:

1.

13138736 their fractured light amie kaufman and meagan spooner

“Their Fractured Light” by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

Release date: December 1st, 2015

Goodreads summary:

“A year ago, Flynn Cormac and Jubilee Chase made the now infamous Avon Broadcast, calling on the galaxy to witness for their planet, and protect them from destruction. Some say Flynn’s a madman, others whisper about conspiracies. Nobody knows the truth. A year before that, Tarver Merendsen and Lilac LaRoux were rescued from a terrible shipwreck—now, they live a public life in front of the cameras, and a secret life away from the world’s gaze.

Now, in the center of the universe on the planet of Corinth, all four are about to collide with two new players, who will bring the fight against LaRoux Industries to a head. Gideon Marchant is an eighteen-year-old computer hacker—a whiz kid and an urban warrior. He’ll climb, abseil and worm his way past the best security measures to pull off onsite hacks that others don’t dare touch.

Sofia Quinn has a killer smile, and by the time you’re done noticing it, she’s got you offering up your wallet, your car, and anything else she desires. She holds LaRoux Industries responsible for the mysterious death of her father and is out for revenge at any cost.

When a LaRoux Industries security breach interrupts Gideon and Sofia’s separate attempts to infiltrate their headquarters, they’re forced to work together to escape. Each of them has their own reason for wanting to take down LaRoux Industries, and neither trusts the other. But working together might be the best chance they have to expose the secrets LRI is so desperate to hide.”

I want this book to come out so bad, and I don’t know if I can wait another month for it!!!

 2. the rose and the dagger renee ahdieh

“The Rose and the Dagger” by Renée Ahdieh

Release date: May 3rd, 2016.

Goodreads summary:

“I am surrounded on all sides by a desert. A guest, in a prison of sand and sun. My family is here. And I do not know whom I can trust.

In a land on the brink of war, Shahrzad has been torn from the love of her husband Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan. She once believed him a monster, but his secrets revealed a man tormented by guilt and a powerful curse—one that might keep them apart forever. Reunited with her family, who have taken refuge with enemies of Khalid, and Tariq, her childhood sweetheart, she should be happy. But Tariq now commands forces set on destroying Khalid’s empire. Shahrzad is almost a prisoner caught between loyalties to people she loves. But she refuses to be a pawn and devises a plan.

While her father, Jahandar, continues to play with magical forces he doesn’t yet understand, Shahrzad tries to uncover powers that may lie dormant within her. With the help of a tattered old carpet and a tempestuous but sage young man, Shahrzad will attempt to break the curse and reunite with her one true love.”

Don’t even get me started on how much I need this book!!! *hyperventilates*

“The Winner’s Kiss” by Marie Rutkoski

Release date: March 1st, 2016.

Goodreads summary:

“War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it, with the East as his ally and the empire as his enemy. He’s finally managed to dismiss the memory of Kestrel, even if he can’t quite forget her. Kestrel turned into someone he could no longer recognize: someone who cared more for the empire than for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she cared for him. At least, that’s what he thinks.

But far north lies a work camp where Kestrel is a prisoner. Can she manage to escape before she loses herself? As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover unexpected roles in battle, terrible secrets, and a fragile hope. The world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and Kestrel and Arin are caught between. In a game like this, can anybody really win?”

This is another one to not get me started on with how much I want it. Why must March be so far away?????? *weeps*

4.

walk the edge by katie mcgarry book

“Walk the Edge” by Katie McGarry

Release date: March 29th, 2016.

Goodreads summary:

“One moment of recklessness will change their worlds

Smart. Responsible. That’s seventeen-year-old Breanna’s role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyber-bully’s line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas “Razor” Turner into her life.

Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don’t belong. But when he learns she’s being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it’s time to step outside the rules.

And so they make a pact: he’ll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she’ll help him seek answers to the mystery that’s haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they’re both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they’re going from here.”

Uhhhh, can I please have this book, like, now?

“My lady Jane” by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows.

Release date: June 7th, 2016

Goodreads summary:

“For fans of The Princess Bride comes the comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey.

Lady Jane Grey, sixteen, is about to be married to a total stranger—and caught up in an insidious plot to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But that’s the least of Jane’s problems. She’s about to become Queen of England. Like that could go wrong.”

“My Lady Jane” sounds really fun, and I love that they are comparing it to “The Princess Bride”! I am definitely looking forward to it!

I guess the theme of this post is that I REALLY want a time machine so I can go forward in time so I can read my most anticipated books without having to wait for them. *sighs* But maybe it’s all the waiting that makes them so sweet when you get your hands on a copy? I still want a time machine, but I do see the benefits of being patient…

Thanks so much for visiting me this Friday! Have a good weekend!

  1. I still haven’t read The Princess Bride or even seen the movie. I need to rectify this before I read My Lady Jane!! I can’t wait for The Rose and The Dagger as well- thinking about the cliffhanger ending of the last book gives me hives!

    • “The Princess Bride” is definitely an oddball book, but I LOVE the movie because I grew up on it. 😉 I do recommend that people watch the movie before they read the book, but both are pretty great in whatever order you read/watch them! Oh, gosh, I know!!!! I both loved and hated the ending of “The Wrath and the Dawn” because of how tormenting it was! Yeah, I REALLY need that book to come out so I can see what happened to my beloved Khalid!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the great comment! 🙂

  2. I only pre ordered like, half of these 😉 And the others of course are on my wish list haha. Seriously, The Winner’s Kiss and The Rose and the Dagger NEED to be epic, I don’t think my soul can handle it any other way! I am really excited about My Lady Jane too, it sounds so good!
